Janus Mediterranean Investment Analytics
Context
This project was developed for Janus Mediterranean, an investment initiative focused on Mediterranean markets. The objective was to analyze, structure, and visualize complex financial and impact data to support strategic investment decisions.
The work combines financial performance indicators, geographic exposure, sector allocation, and impact metrics into a coherent analytics framework designed for clarity, comparability, and actionability.
Project Type
Professional
Data Analytics · Investment Intelligence · Storytelling with Data
Goals
- Consolidate heterogeneous investment datasets into a single analytical framework
- Reveal patterns across geography, sectors, and time
- Enable decision-makers to explore performance and impact visually
- Reduce analytical complexity while increasing insight density
Data
The analysis is based on internal Janus Mediterranean datasets, including:
- Investment allocations by country and sector
- Financial performance indicators over time
- Risk and exposure metrics
- ESG and impact-related variables
All data was cleaned, structured, and modeled to ensure consistency and analytical reliability.
Approach
1. Understanding Data + Investment Objectives
The project started with a deep dive into the structure, granularity, and limitations of the available datasets, alongside discussions on investment goals, reporting needs, and strategic questions.
2. Modeling + Analytical Design
I designed a lean data model that supports both financial and impact analysis, enabling cross-reading between performance, geography, and sectoral exposure.
Key indicators were defined to ensure analytical coherence and comparability across time and regions.
3. Visualization + Iteration
A series of charts and dashboards were developed to surface insights clearly:
- Geographic distribution of investments
- Sector allocation and evolution
- Performance trends over time
- Comparative views across portfolios
Visuals were iterated collaboratively to ensure they supported real decision-making rather than static reporting.
